Great
Its a great app, Im learning french and this work for learning words. One thing: In spanish I search the word Abogado(lawyer) and the picture is an Avocado wich is Aguacate in spanish : )
An ok start but big gaps
Pictures of items are basic drawings; not pictures which would do a better job of communicating. The BIG issue I have is when I select a pic and then type up a short message. What I TYPE is in English but I may be trying to communicate with someone that speaks (for instance) Spanish. This APP should have a translation feature so that what I typed in English can be automatically translated into one of the supported languages. If I spoke/could type in Spanish I would NOT need this App. As it is now, its half baked.
A good helpful start
(I am writing as a traveler, so am not comparing this to communication apps for special needs as that is not what this is). This is definitely for travelers, and will probably be ok for an upcoming trip. I love how you can add your own pictures easily and then display them in a sequence but would like to string more than 3 pictures together. Also the icon library is too small although it does cover the basics. It really needs a seperate "verbs/actions" section. It does something important that my communcation apps do not allow too- I can draw an "X" over an icon to show my son is allergic to it. (Can you please allow this for the pictures we add too though??) I will be taking pictures of all the foods my son is allergic to, along with epi pen etc. so when we are travelling if the need arises I will (hopefully) be able to get the point across in a more timely manner with the preloaded sentences/ "sequences" saved. I do wish this looked better on an iPad but like where this is going. Can you let us add our own icons to the library of images too?.
